Urban Performing MEDELLIN ’10

Closing ceremony for the 9th South American Games in Medellín, 2010, during the CULTURE FIT, a cultural platform amongst people that keeps looking for new ways of artistic exchanges.

Performance created and directed by Jaume Bernadet from Comediants and Carlos Padrissa from La Fura dels Baus, with the participation of important Colombian companies such as Circo Momo and Canto Alegre, as well as other ones: Ballet Folklórico de Antioquia, Grupo Musical Tierra Adentro, Barra de Silencio, Barrio Comparsa, La Pelona, Nuestra Gente, Grupo Aguanegra Circo Teatro, La Red de Escuelas de Música, and all the volunteers from the Games.

A total of 250 people, amongst which musicians, dancers, actors, acrobats, controllers, carriers and drivers join the parade down Medellin’s main avenue, crossing an audience of thousands of people that celebrate the pride of participating live in a closing ceremony led by the universal premises of freedom, knowledge, peace and progress through culture.
